Update – CBSA Investigations Into Fabricated Industrial Steel Components

Under normal circumstances the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) provides for preliminary investigations to be completed within 90 days of the date of initiation. However, due to the complexity of this investigation and issues presented, this timeframe has been extended to 135 days.

As a result, CBSA has advised that the decision to issue the preliminary determinations or to terminate all or part of the investigations will be made on or before January 25, 2017.
