Senior Marine Agent

We are seeking a confident and experienced Senior Marine Agent who is accustomed to building strong
relationships with clients, service providers, and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all aspects of vessel turnaround and port calls, including arrangements for vessel arrival and departure, crew requirements, ships’ stores and provisions, loading and unloading, storage, and
    import/export of shipments;
  • Liaising with port authorities and governmental agencies to ensure compliance with safety, commercial and other regulatory requirements;
  • Communicating with all stakeholders, including customer, vessel owner, agent(s), project personnel,
    vessel captain, port authorities and other PF Collins departments;
  • Arranging for customs clearance of vessel and ensuring compliance with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Other Governmental Departments (e.g. Transport Canada);
  • Arranging forwarding of shipments, including routing, documentation, tracking, and delivery;
  • Invoicing and preparing data for accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience;
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to provide driver’s abstract;
  • Strong computer skills (G-Suite, Excel, Word);
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Proven ability to successfully adapt to changing situations and environments;
  • Demonstrated professionalism and respect for confidentiality;
  • Five or more years of experience in the marine, logistics or project management industry is preferred.

While the standard hours of work are Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm, the successful candidate is
expected to work outside standard hours, sometimes at short notice.
